Raptors

On the bank holiday weekend, we ended up at the Tring Canal Festival – various reasons, but well, that’s where we ended up.

While we were there, there was a falconry centre that had brought along some of their birds, and I took advantage of it to get some photos of kestrels, owls, and a golden eagle with the benefit of no bars between them and the camera.

As it happens, I’m actually really pleased with some of the results…

Good stuff.

Two things: 1. Did you take any at ‘bird level’ (crouching down)? 2. That post that is “stuck” on top made me think you hadn’t come back yet… oops

There’s a Tring Canal festival? Why didn’t I know about that?

Because the inept tossers give it as little publicity as humanly possible – even their website is utter bollocks about it…

You’re not kidding. I live a couple of miles away from the Wendover arm and didn’t hear about it.

Hey you guys – we are not inept little tossers- over 18000 people came to the festival last year in the bad rain. Have you not seen the huge banner hung in Tring High Street, or the adverts in the local papers, or the boards outside the entrace to the festival site? Don’t slag a good thing down and we hope to see you at the festival this year.

Dexter, perhaps you should learn to read.

I’m not slagging down the event one little bit – but no, I hadn’t seen the banner in Tring high street, as I don’t live there. No, I hadn’t seen the ads in the papers either – like I said, I don’t live locally.

As for inept little tossers, did you see the directions to the festival on the bloody website? No, thought not. Neither did anyone else. And I told a committee member on their stall at the event, and just got a shrug of the shoulders.
