Chopped and Chipped

Posted by: lyle    in Festering Season, News, Thoughts

Bah, HumbugNow this is my kind of Christmas Spirit.

Random mobs of ‘tree-surgeons’ going round, cutting down christmas trees and shoving them through the chipping machine.

Sadly it’s not the case in this instance, which appears to be more “mistaken identity” than “Bloody christmas”.

Which is a pity.

Still, it gives me an idea for later in the year…

Rain

   Posted by: lyle    in General

It’s absolutely chucking it down outside – and I’m really pleased to see it.

Where we live, I don’t think there’s been a decent dollop of rain in about two months. The water-butts certainly haven’t filled up in that time.

So yes, I’m happy to see that it’s raining here today. The animals aren’t overly happy about it of course – Psycho Cat was outside and is currently soaked and lying on the bed, and Hound is also deeply soggy having been chucked out while I cleaned up the dollops of puke she’d scattered in the hallway.

Yes, it’s seriously glamorous, being back at home for a few days…

First Stone

Posted by: lyle    in Domestic, Health, Weight Loss

Last night, I finally officially got rid of my first full stone of weight. It’s taken a while, although some of that is because of the working-away of the last six weeks, where I have slipped a few times and not been quite as good as I should’ve been.

All the same, I’m still pleased with having lost that stone. I’ve a fair way to go – this means I’m halfway through my first phase of the weightloss – I finally feel like I’m beginning to make some progress with it.
