Well, lucky lucky me, I'm working in a
Data-Entry department for the next month, from the
look of it. To top it off, it's a Data-Entry department
in my particular favourite
environment - the financial services part of the company.
I don't know what the fuck it is about people who
work in company finances (and, to be fair (or to tar
all of 'em with the same brush) in finance in general)
but they're all weird. Every
single one of 'em. I don't know why, but it's true.
And even within groups of financial people,
the Data Entry departments are regarded as seriously
weird. I don't know what it is about them, but they
seem to invariably populated by sub-normal people
- although I suppose that having a permanent job sitting
in front of a monitor, typing in data in the same
format day in day out. I think that might just drive
me mental too.
So I've got a month of this to look forward
to. Happy happy joy joy. I can't be arsed to rant
about it, it's just a fact of life. But I thought
I'd bung something on anyway. Of course, my mood may
change during my time there, so this may turn into
a rant after all...
