Happy Day

And then I walk downstairs, and there’s a box on the floor that’s obviously come through the letterbox. (Impressive – not even a scrape on it – so why do the tiniest letters get scrunched up, and a fuck-off box gets through fine?) It’s a box from Britannia. A box with Lord of the Rings on DVD.
Now – this is weird – no WAY would I have ordered it on DVD yet, because I’m waiting ’til November when the special edition biggie DVD comes out. Oh, and by the way, I’m not a member of Britannia. Check the box again – nope, it’s addressed to me, so that’s OK. I just didn’t order it. Look at the price. That can’t be right. £1.47??? Ah well, I might even pay that for it, and still get the Special One – I can always flog it to one of the gits on the market, if nothing else. Or give it to my brother to bore his pants off again. (His comment coming out of the film was “I wasted three hours of my life on that shite, and it doesn’t even End?“)
But why did it come to me? I didn’t order it. Technically I didn’t even want it (yet). But for that price, well *shrug* why not? But do companies like Britannia and so on do that? Just send stuff out randomly, or according to some weird mailing list, and see who buys it, who sends it back, and who just doesn’t say a word?
And if I do buy it, does that mean I go on the “suckers who buy shit they didn’t order” mailing list, so I’ll be plagued with more bizarre shite til the day I die/move…?
