Flipflops

I have to say, I’ve decided that I really fucking hate the current fashion for wearing flip-flop type shoes. It’s the noise they make as people walk that really grates with me, that sort of sloppy scraping noise because the shoe doesn’t come of the ground properly, and instead just scrawps along the path.

I can’t see how they’d be comfortable to wear for a long time either, but there we go, that’s just me.

Grrr.

I disagree they are comfortable and flip flops are the accessory of the summer every year .. you just haven’t noticed!

Rach had a pair of sandles that were essentially flip flops with added material and a couple of extra straps. They hung off her feet when she walked, and yes they were irritating. A few weeks back…..Accidentally one might add…… I stood on them when we were shopping and one of the straps broke so they were ruined. I soooooooo nearly managed to assasinate a pair of flipy flopy thingys until Clarkes replaced them, DAMN!

And don’t forget the ‘slapping’ sound as they hit the bottom of the foot. I hate them too.

I wore some proper beach flip-flops for a short trip to local shops that required little walking around. By the end of the trip I had a pressure sore on the inside of my foot about an inch below my big toe.

I can’t understand how people can wear them to work etc. When I’m walking around I do like the teensiest bit of ankle support. And no scope for running-for-buses in flip-flops.

Am I turning into my mother?
