Tact

As has been observed before, I’ve never really been much for tact or subtlety. Lunchtime today was a case in point.

The closing piece of the phone conversation went:

“OK, well, I’m sorry, but can I call you back? It’s just that one of my idiot colleagues has managed to miss the hints of a) being on the phone, and b) being on lunch, and is instead hanging over my shoulder listening to every word. Can I call you back when I’ve told them to fuck off?”

Perhaps I shouldn’t have phrased it quite like that, as I was talking to an agency guy at the time, but he knows what I’m like, and it made him laugh, so that should be OK.

The colleague, however, was distinctly unimpressed. And at some point I’ll probably attempt to give a damn. Besides, what they wanted me for wasn’t important, it was just about a bloody leaving-card.

*sigh*

Another leaving card? Good grief, they’re pushing their luck with these aren’t they?!

  2. MrTeacher says:

Mate, you have no idea how many time I’ve wanted to say things like that.

  3. hellcat says:

After a response like that i’m surprised he trusted you to write non-sweary things on the card! By the way did you know the person cos if not then that would be even more moronic.

  4. Rob says:

That’s such a great response. I wish I had come up with that.

  5. Lyle says:

I know of the person, but I’ve never really worked with them, no.

It was utterly moronic, and incredibly ignorant.

Still, one gets used to it, working for Crapco.
