Or is it worse to admit that I complete it four days out of six?

Nah it’s more sad and geeky that you keep doing those little colour block puzzles where you need to get the whole thing one colour in so many turns.
Still love you though.
My father always used to say that you had to get inside the mind of the deviser of the cryptic crosswords; that way you could begin to solve them on a regular basis.
I used to be quite useful at the Daily Mail cryptic ones, perhaps the only reason I ever bought the damn paper…
