Booking Breaks

In view of trying to be more organised (and the fact that the current job gives me holiday pay) we’ve been trying to be more prepared when it comes to holidays etc. for 2009.

So this week we’ve booked the first break – a week up in Castle Douglas, in Dumfries & Galloway at the end of March.

It’s an area I’ve never been to, but it should be fun. I’m already looking forward to it, even with a seven hour drive to get there…

Wish I’d know you were going, there’s loads of places I’ve been to up there. Great part of the world.

7 hours? Where are you going via, Cardiff?? I could get from Dumbarton to Aylesbury in 6.5!

Well, I’m going with what the AA reckons from Deepest Darkest Norfolk up to Castle Douglas. I can check on Sat-Nav, but well, that’s what they reckon. Of course, it relies on me sticking to the speed limit, so it’ll probably only be five hours in the end… 🙂

Thing is Gordon, if Lyle lived anywhere normal then you’d be right but he lives due east of all civilisation (I am a veteran of the mind numbing journeys to watch Bradford take on Ipswich and Norwich).
Lyle you shouldn’t speed you naughty boy, you might crash into a gas canister carrying eco car!
