Bleat

OK, this is just something that always confuses me.

What’s the point of going away for a break when you know everyone else will be doing the same thing? Maybe I’m weird, but I just don’t see anything “relaxing” about going and queueing in airports or traffic jams in order to travel to somewhere that, when you get there, will also be absolutely rigid with people alld oing the same thing.

Oh, and let’s not forget, paying a buttload more for going away this weekend instead of another one. It all just makes me doubt sanity – mainly everyone elses, but also my own, for not wanting the same as what “most other” people seem to…

Weird…

Commuting

Anyone fancy a 370 mile daily commute?

The only reason I can think of is that the guy is a total headcase…

Strange Request

Right now this will mean very little to anyone, but I need to do a bit of research, and I’ve no idea even where to get started.

So, the question is this :

How are people selected to go on jury duty? I don’t mean “what do you do on jury duty?”, but I actually need to have some basic ideas about how people are selected for a stint on a jury.

Is it random? Is there a method? Computerised? Or some bureaucrat sat in an office with a copy of the electoral roll, and a pen?

Simple, n’est ce pas?

Some Mistake Surely?

It’s taken me a couple of weeks to remember to post this (and a post about Tesco Labelling from Blue Witch) but we recently had to go to Holland and Barrett to get some Omega 3 oil capsules for Herself.

Because Herself is vegetarian, she uses the gelatin-free capsules by Vertesse, and non-codliver oils. Which is fine.

However, we also noticed “Cod Liver Oil in Vegetarian (gelatin-free) capsules”, which seems to be pretty bizarre to me…

Strange Requests

OK, this one’s a bit worrying. Apparently, d4d™ comes in as the #1 result in google for What is the sentence for kidnapping owls. Bizarre.

What’s more bizarre is : Who the hell would want to know. And why?

Gobsmacked

I’m sorry, but how the hell do you “not notice” hitting (and killing) three people ? Particularly when you’re going 60mph, and also hit the broken-down car they were standing next to.

How?

Sleeping Position

Way back in the day, my then-other-half used to complain that I slept in a weird way. To me it’s not weird, it’s how I’ve always slept, and still do.

Anyway, I was thinking about this over the weekend, and I wondered if anyone else does it?

When I go to sleep, I tend to half-cover myself with the quilt, so that (for example) my front half is covered, and warm, but my back is in the air. I find I tend to be a lot cooler like this – being completely under the quilt I just get too hot, but if I sleep with an arm, and/or a leg out of the quilt, it seems to act like a heat-exchanger, and it’s comfortable.

Am I a freak? (hey, like we don’t know the answer to this one already) Or does anyone else sleep in a similar fashion?
