Well, the office move is – um – stuffed at the moment. All the networking and so on has been chuffed, which is always a good start.
We’ve now got internet access and can see the work network, but email’s still knacked. Bizarre, but true.
And the bike ride? All I can say is “Fuck I’m unfit” – 6ish miles took an hour. I’m so ashamed. Still, it’ll get better. Mind, it can’t get much worse…

Well, with the office moving over the weekend (well, the location of the office, not the office itself, if you see what I mean. Oh, never mind…) it means my commute has increased rather. Not too badly – but badly enough to be more awkward. And not particularly walkable any more.
So, as of today, I’m the proud(?) owner of a bike. I haven’t had one in years. But this should be fun. Well, except for a couple of the roundabouts on the route, which – to be honest – could be a bit dodgy. But fun all the same.
The journey is about six miles. Then I need to find exactly where the new office is, as Twunty Manager never quite got round to letting the IT team visit the place. So that should be fun. An accurate assessment of time taken to do the journey will, therefore, not really be possible ’til Monday evening. But I’m reckoning that 15-20 minutes should do it. I’m giving myself about 30 minutes for the first journey though, just to double check.
Mind you, 12 miles each day should do some wonders for fitness and weight-loss…

Well, the cat is shaved. (And please, no jokes about shaved pussies (hello Google) – they’ve all been done already)
Not entirely, which is most disappointing – but he’s decidedly patchy. And epically pissed off. Which is why I haven’t yet been able to get a photo of the little sod’s bald bits.
Personally, I think he’d have actually looked far better just done as a poodle instead of the “hacked to death by a YTS trainee hairdresser on her first day” look that the vet has opted for. Still, the cat’s mortified by this turn of events, so I suppose it might still all turn out for the best…

No more posts today, as I’ve got the joys of helping people disconnect PCs and the like, and move the office.

Utter, utter farce. The start of the move is this afternoon, and all over the weekend. The office furniture and so on is there, but the company sorting out the router and networking have fucked up the router, so the one that’s in there needs to come out, and a new one go in.
The new one is still being sourced. They might be able to get it in over the weekend. But they might not.
<geeky>Also, Twunty Manager thinks that we need two DHCP servers (or, in his terminology DCPH servers) – and can’t understand why this would cause a problem. *sigh*</geeky>

The Cat is now at the vets, having successfully been unfed, caught, boxed, and delivered.
He will now be going under heavy sedation, and they’ll be pretty much shaving him, except for head, tail, and paws. So yeah, kind of like a poodle. I can’t wait.
And yes, photos will be posted.
