Header

There’s actually a handy little bit of PHP I wrote that means it’ll check the day, and if it’s certain dates then a different header image is loaded instead of the default one. Means I don’t have to piss about with swapping images or whatever – or remembering certain days in order to get it done on time.
All very sad, very geeky, and really rather more organised than I’d expected to be. Sad but true.
Firefox Weirdness
Posted: Wed 23 November, 2005 Filed under: Geeky, Weirdness 2 Comments »I’ve no idea why, but this morning when I started up Firefox it wasn’t displaying images at all. Checking the installed “Web Developer” toolbar (a god-send in so many ways) showed that I didn’t have images disabled there, so it needed a bit more delving.
Under Options in 1.5rc2 there’s now a tab called “Content” – and in there you can choose globally whether to load images or not. Somehow that was now unticked.
So – a simple fix, but why did it happen in the firstplace? I rarely even bother to go into the Options, so something odd’s going on…
Extensions
Posted: Tue 22 November, 2005 Filed under: Geeky Leave a comment »Over the last few days I installed a couple of new (to me) FireFox extensions – View Rendered Source, ShowIP, and Show Table Inspector.
Since installing them, the performance of my installation of Firefox became utterly dire. I haven’t investigated properly (mainly due to high levels of ‘can’t be arsed’) so I haven’t ascertained exactly which one caused the problems (I suspect the combination of Rendered Source and Table Inspector proved rather process-intensive) but since removing those two, the problems have disappeared.
This has been a semi-public semi-service semi-announcement. *Grin*
Qoop revisited
Posted: Tue 22 November, 2005 Filed under: Customer Services, Geeky, Photography 1 Comment »Having posted some stuff over the weekend about them, I figure it’s pretty impressive that I got a response in the comments yesterday from a representative of Qoop…
D4D et al:
Thanks for checking out QOOP. Right now the only option for the ordering of photos in your books is in the way they were uploaded from Flickr, so that means the way the photos were ordered in your sets, etc. You can, in Flickr, edit the order of your set to be uploaded. We realize this doesn’t provide much flexibility and additional layout options are in the works. We had to start somewhere and we opted for efficiency and convenience first. Both cover and page layouts will have greater design possibilities very soon.
We hope you’ll check us out again!

QOOP
Pretty impressive – and, as such, only fair for me to do this and print it up on the front page rather than having to hunt through the comments for it.
Brainblock
Posted: Mon 21 November, 2005 Filed under: Geeky, Thoughts, Weirdness 3 Comments »Why is it that my brain consistently gets mixed up between Kinja and Flickr? I’m forever mixing the two up, and saying Kinja when I mean Flickr (and vice versa)
Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me?
