Shock, Horror

At least two different media sites are today carrying the story about the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) telling clothing company Jack Wills (ever heard of them? I hadn’t) to not continue publishing their current catalogue until certain images are changed.

The story’s on the BBC here – and on the scumrag Daily Mail here.

Only one of the two stories manages to also show the image in it’s full “offensive” version.  Guess which one?

Yep, you got it – good old Daily Fail, making sure its readers know precisely what they should be offended by.

[Oh, and if you do want to know what the image is, look below the ‘More’ link]

The offending image

Offensive, isn't it? Not.

Not that it’s anything like as explicit as stuff most kids will have seen a hundred times before anyway.

The only reason I’d ever heard of them is that they have a shop near my current office. Never been in – they may as well have a sign over the door saying “Don’t come in unless you’re a posh git”.

I saw this story but couldn’t for the life of me find what was offensive. Newsflash for the Fail, kids have sex, always have always will.

Not sure I find it offensive as such, but the excuse that it’s advertising clothing does seem a rather thin pretence. Wouldn’t have the energy to get that incensed though.

However, I am rather annoyed at the Fail’s approach given that younger kids are more likely to come across the Daily Fail’s reproduction of the photo when they wouldn’t have bothered to read through an actual clothing catalogue. Idiots.
